Among the millions of online pages, Google’s automatic ranking engines take several signals or criteria into account. Apart from that, it is about using other content in the search index to present relevant results all at once in a fraction of a second.

It is a significant improvement to the ranking system of Google, which emerged in 2013. Google says that systems have evolved since then.

Page speed system

A system that had its inception in the year 2018, where preference was given to content that can be loaded fast on mobile devices. As part of the Google page experience system, it has been incorporated.

Mobile-friendly ranking system

The system prefers content that is rendered better on mobile devices. It has been an integral part of the Google page experience system.

Penguin system

It was a system that was introduced in the year 2012 that demoted websites that indulged in spam link-building activities.

Panda system

The system was introduced in the year 2011, and that preferred original and high-quality content. In the year 2015, it went on to become a part of the core ranking system of Google.

Secure site system

It was introduced in the year 2014, which preferred websites that had a secure HTTPS. Once again it has been made a part of the Google page experience system.
